Internet of Things in Horizon 2020

Horizon 2020 (H2020) is the European funding programme for research and innovation, with nearly 80 billion Euro of funding available over 7 years (2014 - 2020). It is based on three main pillars: Excellence Science, Industrial Leadership and Societal Challenges. One of the industrial leaderships is dedicated to ICT. The calls and topics funded under the ICT domain are described in the ICT Work Programme, which has been released last year and is valid for the calls in 2014 and 2015. IoT is among the topics funded in 2015 (call H2020-ICT-2015), under the objective ICT-30, titled Internet of Things and Platforms for Connected Smart Objects. The deadline is on the 14th of April 2015. The call is looking for Research and Innovation Ations (objective a) and for Support Measures (objective b). The FI-WARE accelerators and their funding opportunities

The Futute Internet Public-Private Partnership (FI-PPP) is a funding programme established by the European Commission and European industry with twofold aim: 1) to increase the effectiveness of business processes and of the operation of infrastructures supporting applications in several sectors such as transport, health, or energy; 2) to derive possible innovative business models in these sectors, strengthening the competitive position of European industry in domains like telecommunication, mobile devices, software and service industries, content providers and media. The programme has been divided into three main phases, as illustrated in the figure below. Phase 1 has been dedicated to the technology foundation of the Future Internet platform and to the use case definition.
